This is a very special time for me. After years of working in the sales industry, I was beginning to feel that I needed to do something meaningful with my life. I went through several months of deliberation and prayer before I made the decision to become a teacher-- and I'm so glad I took that step! The sales world really wasn't the place for me and I'm extremely grateful for this new opportunity!!! One of the things I had a bit of a struggle with during this transition was lesson planning. I'm still not entirely sure I have it figured out, but I'm trying several techniques, ranging from an entirely digital spreadsheet to handwritten pages. As the year progresses, I'm going to observe which one was easier to work with and I'll be formulating improved strategies based on my experience. I watched a lot of YouTube videos on teacher planners and organization as part of my research. I enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful teacher planners, but I was hesitant on actually purchasing one because I wasn't sure if I would actually use it the entire year; and I also kept thinking that I could simply just design my own. After playing around with a few layouts and color palettes I came up with a muted pastel color scheme which is not only adorable, it also saves on ink. I also added a bit of cacti clip art to make it aesthetically pleasing. I made both a weekly spread where I plan to keep a layout of all of my subjects as well as a detailed lesson-specific page where I can fill in more details. I'm sharing this in the hopes that you will find it both useful and pretty!! Please let me know how it works out for you!!
